Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0031215A1] Heavy hydrocarbon feeds are catalytically cracked to lighter products by contacting with a catalyst containing large pore molecular sieve component and ZSM-5 and/or ZSM-11, the catalyst having a substantially inert matrix material such as silica and/or clay and having active matrix material of less than 10 wt.% based on total catalyst composition. The products include light olefins ethylene and propylene, and the light olefin yield is increased when the matrix material is substantially inert.
