[origin: DE19802339A1] The panes (1,2) are sealingly coupled by an extruded piece of adhesive (6) round the periphery of the panes, leaving a narrow edge region (7a,b) with an electrochromic medium (5) between them. In the space between the two edge regions is fitted a laminate (8) of metal, solid nonconductor, and metal layers. The laminate is formed in a preset section as a contact fin, extending over the edge of the panes. The solid nonconductor may be of plastics. The electrochromic medium may be filmed via an aperture.
