[origin: EP1050355A2] The continuous casting operation uses a soft reduction action on the molten core of the cast material. The shaping section u only a pair of rollers (23) with the pull forces (Z) on the cast material as the control value. The comparison between nominal a actual values is used to set the ratio between the position of the paired rollers (23) and the peak (S) of the soft zone, so tha the cast strand is hardened throughout directly in the roller gap between the two rollers (24,25).
