Abstract (en)
A method of manufacturing a bulky, non-woven fabric having a fiber-raised construction on the surface of the non-woven fabric is disclosed. The method includes adhering a non-woven web, with a surface layer portion containing an easy-to-heat-melt component which becomes adhesive when heated, to a smooth surface. The smooth surface is heated at the temperature for the easy-to-heat-melt component of the surface layer portion to become adhesive and to bond to the smooth surface, and subsequent raising of the fibers of the non-woven web is achieved by peeling the non-woven fabric like web off the smooth surface, so that a fiber-raised bulky state is generated on the surface of the non-woven fabric. The smooth surface can be in the form of a heated roll, and the easy-to-heat-melt component can be a hot melt adhesive polymer. <IMAGE>
