Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19753147A1] The invention relates to a dispenser (11) for discharging, especially spraying media, especially liquid medicaments. The inventive dispenser discharges a desired quantity of the medicament in just one or optionally, a few strokes. The user can operate the dispenser with three fingers, the thumb pressing an activating depressor (80) in the direction of activation and discharge. The aim of the invention is to prevent the dispenser from being activated unintentionally and to protect the discharge opening (44) against dirt and contamination. To this end, a protective cap (90) which covers the entire discharge section (13) and the holding surfaces (14) for operating the dispenser is provided. Said protective cap also has rod-shaped projections (93) which extend as far as the activating depressor (80) and fix said depressor in place so that the dispenser cannot be activated whilst the protective cap is on. Removing the protective cap, which is fixed in place with a snap connection, unblocks the activating mechanism.
