Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19757147A1] Derivatized starch based polymer blend includes a plasticizer with compatibility-enhancing components comprising esters and oligomeric copolyesters, prepared from carbonic and/or dicarboxylic acids with n CH2 groups (n = 0-6) and aliphatic alcohols with n CH2 groups (n = 1-6) and/or aliphatic diols with n CH2 groups (n = 2-6) and/or polyether polyols of molecular weight 100-2000. Polymer blend comprises 40-80 wt.% starch ester and 20-50 wt.% polyester, polyester amide and/or polyether ester and a plasticizer with compatibility-enhancing properties. The compatibility-enhancing components are esters and oligomeric copolyesters, prepared from carbonic and/or dicarboxylic acids with n CH2 groups (n = 0-6) and aliphatic alcohols with n CH2 groups (n = 1-6) and/or aliphatic diols with n CH2 groups (n = 2-6) and/or polyether polyols of molecular weight 100-2000, where the ratio of carbonate/dicarboxylic acids:diols in the polyester is 1:0.6-1.3 and the OH number is 200-600.
