[origin: FR2774379A1] he invention concerns a method for producing alpha 1-antitrypsin ( alpha 1-AT), or alleles thereof characterised in that it consists in: (i) introducing in the monocotyledon plant cells, a nucleic acid comprising a sequence coding for alpha 1-antitrypsin ( alpha 1-AT) or for an allele thereof, the alleles being differentiated from natural human alpha 1-AT by one or several substitution(s), deletion(s) or insertion(s) of amino acids, and optionally a sequence coding for a selective agent; (ii) selecting the cells having integrated the nucleic acid in stable manner; (iii) propagating the transformed cells in culture, or regeneration of entire chimerical or transgenic plants; (iv) recuperating and optionally purifying the resulting alpha 1-antitrypsin or its alleles.
