[origin: WO9822011A1] A cleaning device with an ultrasonic cleaning head (14) which is generally flat, trough-shaped or tub-shaped and has a peripheral wall (1) and a base, which is formed by a resonator plate (2) connected to a piezo-electric oscillator. When said device is in operation, cleaning fluid is introduced into the cleaning head by a feed pipe (5) at a relatively low internal overpressure so that the inner cavity of the cleaning head is completely filled. Ultrasonic energy is transmitted to the cleaning fluid which, by means of cavitation, removes all dirt from the plate which is to be cleaned (9) in an effective manner. The mixture of cleaning fluid, dirt and air is continuously sucked by a suction channel (10) in the edge rim of the peripheral wall.
