[origin: WO9940278A1] A door security arrangement comprises a frame member (10) mounted alongside an edge (16) of the door which is not hinged and which supports an elongate member (22) for movement to an extended position and one or two retracted positions. The elongate member (22) which is of a length equal to the length of the edge of the door alongside which is mounted movable between the extended and retracted positions by an operating bar (40) which is reciprocating along the longitudinal direction of the frame and includes guide channels (42, 142) for accommodating guide pins (34) mounted to the elongate member (22), movement of the pins (34) along inclined sections (48, 144) of the guide channel causing movement of the elongate member (22) from the extended position in which it locks the door to a first retracted position in which, in one embodiment, the door can open inwardly and in the second embodiment to a second retracted position in which the door can open inwardly and outwardly.
