Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19806088A1] The invention relates to a short-circuited rotor of a unit used for converting electrical power into mechanical power or mechanical power into electrical power, said rotor being surrounded by a stator including a winding. Said rotor is particularly used in facilities where rotation torques having an amplitude strongly varying in a wide range of frequencies appear, for instance when these power conversion facilities are used in systems for actively reducing variations of driving shafts of internal combustion engines. The invention is characterised in that said rotor has a cage which forms a structural unit with the hub supporting the rotor. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the short-circuited rotor is formed as a single piece out of an alloy cast. The choice of the alloy allows for a good and substantial adaptation of the rotor to its use parameters such as rotation torque and dampening. Advantageously, said structural unit comprises reinforcing members which are placed in the alloy body of the unit so as to be angled or flattened at the inner and/or outer diameter of the unit.
