Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19806930A1] Statistical aliphatic-aromatic polyester-amides derived from (cyclo)aliphatic diols and/or aliphatic diacids and/or aromatic diacids and/or hydroxy-acids or lactones and/or amino-alcohols and/or cyclic lactams and/or w-amino-acids and/or 1:1 diamine/diacid salts, with up to 70 mol% aromatic diacid in the acid component. Statistical aliphatic-aromatic polyester-amides based on the following monomers: (a) aliphatic di-alcohols such as mono- or di-ethylene glycol, 1,4-butanediol, 1,3-propanediol and 1,6-hexanediol or cycloaliphatic diols such as cyclohexanedimethanol, and/or (b) aliphatic diacids such as oxalic, succinic or adipic acid etc. (also in the form of methyl, ethyl or other esters), and/or (c) aromatic diacids such as terephthalic, isophthalic or phthalic acid (or esters as in b), and/or (d) hydroxy-acids and lactones such as caprolactone, and/or (e) aminoalcohols such as ethanolamine and propanolamine etc., and/or (f) cyclic lactams such as iota -caprolactam or laurolactam, and/or (g) w-aminocarboxylic acids such as aminocaproic acid, and/or (h) mixtures (1:1 salts) of diacids such as adipic, succinic or terephthalic acid and diamines such as hexamethylenediamine or diamino-butane, in which up to 70 mol% of the acid component consists of aromatic dicarboxylic acid. An Independent claim is also included for films, sheets, injection moldings, non-woven fabric, fibers and foams made from these polyester-amides.
