[origin: WO9941454A1] The invention relates to a method and device for disacidifying paper products with printings or inscriptions (thereafter called "books"). According to said method, book pages to be treated are wide opened by means of an opening jet and the active material is injected between the pages of the wide opened book pages by means of a jet of active material. In order to reduce flow resistance between independent pages (4) of the book (3), suction is applied on the opposite side of the book. A bent slot-shaped nozzle (12) is also provided for producing a corresponding opening jet (11).
