Abstract (en)
The fixing (1) for a muzzle brake (5) consists of threaded surfaces (9, 13) on the muzzle and brake and a thrust surface (15 the brake which engages with the end (10) of the barrel. The muzzle has a cylindrical extension (7) in front of its thread (9) w fits against a corresponding surface (14) on the brake to ensure that the brake is centred. The fixing also has at least one sto screw to prevent any rotation of the brake once fitted. In a variant of the design the brake and muzzle have additional interact cylindrical surfaces to the rear of their threads, and a spacer ring can be fitted between the brake and muzzle end.
