Abstract (en)
Multidimensional coding with a bit count previously not practicable with a ROM is realized using a ROM of realistic size. Two-dimensional planes forming a multidimensional space are each divided into a plurality of areas. Using a ROM (20), multiple sets of area designation bits are generated from part of the information bits that are to be multidimensionally encoded.
