[origin: DE19806450A1] Radar images generated by a radar system are superimposed onto an optical image of the monitored region, using a data processing system and the combination image is displayed. Preferably, an optical image of the monitored region, stored in the data processing system, forms a background of the radar image, adjusted in size to the latter, with the images in color. The radar image displays only rescattered points of targets, not present in the optical image, or those of moving targets.
