Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0036651A1] The invention relates to an integrated circuit with capacitative elements for smoothing the supply voltage. At least one additional metal electrode which is configured as a high-frequency optimized capacitor and which is characterized by its extremely low sheet resistance is connected in parallel to the MOS capacitors. It is possible to achieve a wide-band attenuating effect and thus a decoupling of high-frequency interfering signals by the said connection in parallel. To this end, the MOS capacitor which requires little space but is connected to have a slightly higher resistance is connected in parallel to metal capacitors which require more space but are connected to the supply voltage to have a very low resistance. Very high frequency interfering signals are attenuated by the chip and do not advance into the system surrounding the integrated circuit.
