Abstract (en)

The display unit consists of a pillar (1) e.g. of a plastic material, mounted vertically on a base (3) and having horizontal slots (71, 72, 73) in its side (91, 92) and front (93) surfaces to receive shelves (5). Each shelf has a recess (11) corresponding to the shape of the pillar, with its edges made to engage with the pillar slots. The width of the slots is slightly greater than the thickness of the shelves, so that the shelves are held at a slight angle in the slots, but too shallow for the displayed articles to slide off.
