Abstract (en)
The protective sheath-forming material is capable of repeated alternate melting for spraying and solidification to form a peelable tough continuous perforation-free cocoon. The material, for producing a sheath-like protective layer (22), can be repeatedly liquefied by heating for spraying onto a surface (20) and solidified by cooling to form a tough continuous perforation-free cocoon having a cohesion greater than its adhesion to the surface so that the layer (22) can be peeled from the surface. An Independent claim is also included for production of a removable protective layer (22) of the above material on a surface (20) by liquefying the material by heating, applying the liquid onto the surface (20) and cooling to form a solidified continuous sheath-like body as the protective layer which, when required, can be peeled from the surface and liquefied by heating for reuse.

Masse und Verfahren zur Erzeugung einer mantelartigen, entfernbaren Schutzschicht (22). Die Masse wird aus einem festen Zustand in einen flüssigen, auf eine Fläche (20) sprühbaren Zustand gebracht gelangt nach dem Versprühen wieder in ihren festen Zustand, wobei sie einen in sich zusammenhängenden, perforationsfreien Körper mit hoher Zähigkeit bildet, dessen Kohäsion grösser ist als seine Haftung an der Fläche. Die mantelartige Schutzschicht (22) kann als Ganzes oder mindestens in grossen Abschnitten von der Fläche (20) abgezogen werden. Die Masse ist so beschaffen, dass sie mehrfach abwechselnd durch Wärmezufuhr verflüssigbar und durch Wärmeabfuhr verfestigbar ist. Die Schutzschicht (22) lässt sich zum Schutz einer Aussenfläche, insbesondere einer Rohrleitungsverbindung (11) und insbesondere an einer Erdöl-Bohrinsel, verwenden; sie bildet hierbei einen die Rohrleitungsverbindung einschliessenden Kokon. <IMAGE>
