[origin: EP1058076A1] The housing of a hot steam dryer, to take continuous fabric piecegoods to be blown with hot steam, has a chamber section (2) and a passage section (3). The passage section (3) extends over the whole length of the chamber section (2), or virtually its length, and over its whole height, with an entry door (29). The drives (31) are at the opposite side of the housing to the passage section (3). The drives (31) are under the base (4) of the chamber section (2). The passage section (3) extends downwards over the chamber section (2), so that the gap between the base (23) of the passage section (3) to the floor (26) is less than the gap between the chamber section (2) and the floor. The processing chambers, with recirculating air systems, can be constructed as described in DE-A 199 15 923.
