Abstract (en)
The conversion screen comprises a rigid silicon carbide or boron carbide backing plate (20) which is transparent to X-rays. It has one face (20a) able to receive and transmit X-rays and a second face (20b) coated with a layer of sodium iodide (22) to convert the X-rays transmitted by the plate into visible light photons. An Independent claim is also included for a digital radiology system comprising the above screen, and an X-ray emitter, a receiver and converter, and a digital detector and image display.
