[origin: CA2318647A1] An internal fitment (14) has a bottom peripheral flange (16) attached to a panel (11) of a paperboard carton surrounding a hole (12). Above the flange (16) is a spout (17) which converges upwardly and has a cylindrical external locking bead (22). Above the spout (17) is an outward slanted tear band (26) and above the tear band (26) is a reclosure cap (36) having a top (37), a depending skirt (38) formed with internal interrupted beads (39) and a plug (41). The tear band (26) is connected to the spout (17) and cap (36) by thin horizontal tear lines (27, 28). A finger grip tab (31) is provided to separate the tear band (26) from the spout (17) and cap (36). The cap (36) is dimensioned so the skirt (38) fits over the outside of the spout (17) with the beads (39) detachably locking under the bead (22) while the plug (41) seals against the inside of the spout (17) to prevent spillage.
