Process for metallizing molded parts comprises galvanizing an electrically conducting functional intermediate layer having low transition resistance, and galvanizing a decorative layer. During galvanizing of the decorative layer, a region (118, 120) of a counter element lies over a region (100, 102) of the molded part (38) so that the galvanic application in this region is reduced.

Die Erfindung schlägt vor, beim Galvanisieren eines Formteils (42) mit einer dekorativen Schicht zumindest einem Bereich (100, 102) des Formteiles (42) einen Bereich (118, 120) eines Gegenelementes (44) so gegenüberliegend anzuordnen, daß der Bereich (100, 102) des Formteils (42) und gegebenenfalls auch der Bereich (118, 120) des Gegenelements (44) nur in reduziertem Umfang mit dem dekorativen Material überzogen wird. Hierdurch kann der Übergangswiderstand z.B. zu einer elektrisch leitenden Dichtung (134) herabgesetzt und beispielsweise die Abschirmung im Verbindungsbereich der Gehäuse von Mobilfunktelefonen verbessert werden. <IMAGE>
