The spacer (10), for mounting a panel (11) and the like at a gap (x) from a supporting wall, has at least one passage opening (14) for a mounting bolt (12) to pass through. Clamping surfaces (15) to clamp the spacer (10) within an opening (17) of the panel (11) are outside the passage opening (14), at least generally at right angles to its longitudinal axis (23). The clamping surfaces (15) have webs (18), which distort when the bolt is screwed home, to increase the clamping action. The spacer is of a suitable metal or plastics which is stable but can be distorted.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Abstandhalter 10 zur Befestigung von flächigen Gegenständen 11, wie z.B. einem Schild, an einer Gebäudefläche 13, insbesondere an einer Wand, unter Einhaltung eines Abstands x zwischen dem Gegenstand 11 und der Gebäudefläche 13, welcher mindestens eine Durchbrechung 14 zum Durchführen eines Befestigungsmittels 12, z.B. einer Schraube, und eine sich außerhalb der Durchbrechung 14, zumindest im wesentlichen senkrecht zu deren Längsachse 23 erstreckende Klemmfläche 15 zur Klemmbefestigung des Abstandhalters 10 in einer Ausnehmung 17 des flächigen Gegenstands 11 aufweist. <IMAGE>
