[origin: WO9945223A1] The invention relates to a device (10) for supporting a pivotable fitting (65) such as a window or a door, preferably at a point other than the joint, in at least one predetermined pivot position in relation to a stationary fitting (66) such as a window frame or a door frame. The inventive device has a structurally simple, adjustable form, consisting essentially of a housing (11) which can be fixed to the pivotable fitting (65) in a suitable area for absorbing bearing forces, said housing having a bearing and fixing flange section (12) and a hollow holding and supporting section (13) for a rolling element (15) which protrudes out from said holding and supporting section (13) over the bearing and fixing flange section (12) and which is held loosely but securely. A height-adjustable plate-shaped support element, consisting of a fixing part (50) and a bearing plate (40) fixed thereto is arranged in the at least one predetermined pivot position to provide the desired support.
