The holder to clamp and carry workpieces has both fork legs (5) of the clamping arm (2) offset to the sides of the gap between the outer flanks of the head piece to place them wider apart by a few mm. The depth of the fork is also increased by a few mm in relation to the permissible normal depth (T) of the head piece, in relation to the free swing movement of 120 degrees round the upper section of the head piece, and/or the gap between the axes of the setting shaft and the lower edge (2') of the clamping arm (2). The cross section of the setting shaft journals is over-dimensioned in relation to the loading allowed for the assembly and as applied by the setting mechanism drive.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Spannvorrichtung zum Festspannen von Werkstücken, bestehend aus einem Kopfstück (1), an dem der anlenkseitig gabelartig ausgebildete und mit um 90° abgekröpften Lagerenden (3) versehene Spannarm (2) an seitlichen, im Kopfstück (1) mit der Stellmechanik in Wirkverbindung stehenden Stellwellenzapfen (4) verdrehfest fixiert ist. Nach der Erfindung sind die beiden Gabelschenkel (5) des Spannarmes (2) in Bezug auf die Distanz (D) der Aussenflanken des Kopfstückes mit einer um einige Millimeter beidseitig größeren Distanz (D') beabstandet. Ferner ist die Gabeltiefe (T') in Bezug auf seine die freie Schwenkbarkeit von 120° um den oberen Bereich (1') des Kopfstückes zulassende Normaltiefe (T) und/oder die Distanz (D'') zwischen Achse (A) der Stellwelle (1) und Unterkante (2') Spannarm ebenfalls um einige Millimeter vergrößert und schließlich ist der Querschnitt (8) der Stellwellenzapfen (4) in Bezug auf die für die Vorrichtung zulässige und vom Stellantrieb via Stellmechanik einbringbare Belastung überdimensioniert bemessen. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
