Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9945787A1] A process is disclosed for reliable airtight storage and preservation of moist grain by using, as grain, a grain cultivar resisting infection by storage spoilage fungi and effecting the storage in the presence of an antifungally effective amount of a biocontrol agent having the ability to suppress or inhibit storage spoilage fungi while reinforcing the effect of using a grain cultivar resisting infection by such fungi. The preferred biocontrol agent is a Pichia anomala isolate. A biocontrol composition for use in said process is also disclosed, the composition preferably containing a Pichia anomala isolate.
