[origin: EP0941727A1] A disposable garment (10) having a pant body (12) defining a waist opening (24) and a pair of leg openings (26). The disposable garment body (12) has a front section (14), a back section (16), and a crotch section (18). The pant (10) includes a continuous waistborder (30) which includes a front waistborder section (42) in the front section (14) and a back waistborder section (46) in the back section (16). The front waistborder section (42) has a length dimension and the back waistborder section (46) has a length dimension. An elastic waistband which includes a front waistband portion (64) joined to the front waistborder section (42) and a back waistband portion (66) joined to the back waistborder section (46). The front waistband portion (64) has a length dimension and the back waistband portion (66) has a length dimension. At least one of the elastic waistband portions (64,66) has a length dimension greater than the length dimension of the respective waistborder section (42,46) to which the elastic waistband portion (64,66) is joined. <IMAGE>
