Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2775916A1] Metal is continuously cast between moving molds. The solidification front of the liquid metal is deformed in order to obtain the desired profile of thickness for the strip. Continuous casting of metal strip between moving molds involves feeding liquid metal to an injection device incorporating at least one injector (4), and optionally an injection box (2) situated upstream of injector (4). The liquid metal distributes itself from the downstream end of the injector (4) into the entry between the moving molds. The solidification front of the liquid metal is deformed in order to obtain the desired profile of thickness for the strip. An Independent claim is also included for the continuous casting device for performing the above method.
