Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9946082A1] The invention aims to provide a surface pattern for wide-wheel grinding devices instead of improving the surface fineness of such devices by increasingly intensive grinding measures. When on the side of a plate at least two grinding devices are arranged such that they are inclined at a small angle, it is possible to produce a rhombus pattern across the entire plate surface. The rhombus has a surprising number of advantages. It is possible to produce said rhombus pattern by either rough grinding or precision grinding. The angular deviation of the grinding devices is preferably between 3 and 15 DEG . In this way the quantity of abrasive material consumed is not significantly greater than when the grinding means are positioned exactly at right angles.
