[origin: WO9946359A1] A process for preparing a granular detergent composition with improved wash-delivery properties comprises a first step of preparing a liquid component containing an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant and a structurant and a second step comprising admixture of the liquid component with a solid component in a granulator. An optional third step comprises drying and/or cooling. The structurant is incorporated in an amount such that the liquid component is pumpable at temperatures of 50 DEG C or more but causes sufficient solidification to form a free-flowing granulated product. In bleach-containing products, the process also provides for reduced fabric dye damage in the wash.
