Process for post-working the rolls, especially the working rolls in a hot roll stand comprises using a CNC-position controlled lathe tool (16) which removes the surface of the rotating rolls whilst they are guided longitudinally and across the roll body on a prescribed path. An Independent claim is also included for a device for post-working the rolls, especially the working rolls in a hot rolling mill. Preferred Features: Post-working of the rolls is carried out during the rolling breaks, in which the main drive of the rolls causes the rotating movement of the rolls with lathe tools fixed in the periphery direction of the rolls.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Nachbearbeiten der in Warmbandwalzgerüsten eingebauten Walzen, insbesondere der Arbeitswalzen in Quarto-Walzgerüsten mittels über die Ballenlänge der zu bearbeitenden Walze bewegbarer Werkzeuge, die zusammen mit einem Werkzeugträger auf einer Führungsbahn parallel zur Walzenachse oszillierend beweg bar sowie quer zu dieser anstellbar sind. Dabei werden als Werkzeuge CNC gesteuerte Drehmeissel (16, 41, 42, 43) mit hochfesten verschleißarmen Werkzeugschneiden eingesetzt. <IMAGE>
