[origin: EP1063087A1] The arrangement has a compressed air cylinder (28) with a first valve (21) connected to its first side (29) for applying a first defined pressure and second valve (24) connected to its second side (31). The second valve applies a pressure to the second side greater than the first pressure in a non-cutting mode; this pressure is reduced to a value below the first pressure to start the cutting process. An Independent claim is also included for a method of cutting strip material.
