Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1055763A2] Wet fabrics (1) are steamed after treating with reactive dyes by passing them through superheated steam at 150 to 230 degree in a horizontal path. Steam is blown from jet chambers (15) arranged above and below the fabric. The moisture content of printed fabrics is reduced from 15 - 25% to 3 -7%. The residence time in the chamber (12) is 5 to 60 secs, especially 10 to 20 secs. An Independent claim is also included for a steam treatment chamber (12) with jet chambers (15) and circulating fans (14). fabric (1) is carried through the chamber on a perforated conveyor (41) with 50 to 90% clear area.
