[origin: EP1063475A2] Throughflow water heater has heat exchanger (3) heated by gas burner (2) and arranged in water path (4) from cold water source (5) to tap valve (9) in series with throughput sensor (33) with vane wheel, whereby burner is supplied from gas line (14) with gas valve (13) and has associated ignition electrode (19) with electric voltage supply (27). Electricity generator (30) associated with sensor acts as voltage source for ignition electrode, and is connected to accumulator (27).
