[origin: WO9947211A1] The compressor fluid or oil of an air compressor system which is dielectric or electrically insulative is treated with a static dissipative compound to increase its electrical conductivity. The static dissipative compound may be added directly to the compressor fluid, or it may be added by supplying an air-oil separator (13) which is treated or impregnated with the static dissipative compound. The treatment of the compressor fluid reduces the flammability of the compressor fluid by dissipating static electricity build-up.
