Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9933718A1] A refuse collection vehicle which can maintain segregation of segregated rubbish from a split bin (101) when it is loaded into a vehicle. It includes refuse entrances (31) and (32) to an upper hopper (33) lying within a lower hopper (34). A panel (10) provided with a sliding door (16) which acts as a valve, is used to open or block entry through either refuse entrance to the relevant hopper. The hoppers each include a compactor paddle (50, 51) which compacts and pushes segregated refuse into separate refuse storage compartments (48, 49).
