[origin: WO9947690A2] The present invention is directed to the use of particular gene combinations in genetic therapy. Delivery of multiple genes to a target cell at the same time augments the action of one or both genes. This is particularly effective in attacking diseased cells such as those making up hyperplastic or neoplastic tissues. Classes of genes that may be used in combination are tumor suppressors, cytokines and lymphokines, toxins, inducers of apoptosis, antisense oncogenes, single-chain antibodies, ribozymes, transcription factors and regulators, cell cycle regulators and enzymes.
