Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19811729A1] A method for fluorescent detection of a nucleotide sequence (N) is new in which the presence of N generates or destroys an interaction between two fluorophores (F1, F2), the new feature is that at least one of F1 and F2 is bound to a solid phase (M). The interaction between the fluorophores makes possible a non-radiative (Foerster) or direct energy transfer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a microtiter plate for carrying out the process with F1 bonded to the wells; and (2) kit including the microtiter plate plus an F2-labeled second primer.
