[origin: DE19902073A1] The invention relates to an electrical conductor, especially for connecting the starter relay and the starter motor of a motor vehicle. Said electrical conductor comprises an ignition device (5) which is in thermal contact with the conductor (1) and which is provided to ignite and destroy the conductor (1) in the event that a limit temperature is exceeded. The conductor consists of one or more strands which extend continuously between its ends. The ignition device (5) is situated on the conductor (1) so that it can sever said strands in the event of its ignition.
