Abstract (en)

Ready to use gaseous mixtures of 63.1 - 69.9% by volume of helium, the balance being oxygen, at a pressure of at least 2 bars, and the use of such mixtures as aerosol propellants for the administration of medicaments. The mixture is preferably 65% by volume of helium and 35% oxygen, at a pressure of 2 - 300 bars, especially 100 - 250 bars. The gases may be used to make aerosols for the administration of beta 2-mimetics, corticoids, and anticholinergic agents. Independent claims are also included for gas bottles containing the gaseous mixture and installations for the administration of the mixture to patients comprising a gas bottle, a respiratory assistance ventilator, and tubing to connect these.

L'invention concerne un mélange gazeux binaire prêt à l'emploi contenant de 63.1 à 69.9 % en volume d'hélium et le reste étant de l'oxygène, de préférence un mélange de 65% d'hélium et de 35% d'oxygène, et son utilisation dans le traitement de l'asthme, des broncho-pneumopathies obstructives ou analogues. Un tel mélange gazeux peut être utilisé en tant que gaz vecteur ou propulseur d'aérosols médicamenteux, en particulier d'aérosols contenant une substance thérapeutiquement efficace choisie parmi les β2-mimétiques, les corticoïdes et les anticholinergiques.
