The material path has a support (1) with at least one film piece (2) and at least one label (3). The film piece and label are arranged on two areas of the support separated by a fold line (4), so that the one label can be arranged over the film piece by folding the support along the fold line. Preferably, the label is a protective coating label and has a mounting plate fixed on one side to a base part (8), a first adhesive layer (5) fixing the label to the support and a second adhesive layer (12) on the other side of the base part. Independent claims are included for a method and a device for processing a material path.

Die Erfindung beschreibt eine Materialbahn, die insbesondere beim Aufbringen von beschriftbaren Folienstücken 2 oder dergleichen auf zu lackierenden oder anderweitig einzufärbenden Gegenständen 13 behilflich ist. Die Materialbahn verfügt dazu über einen Träger 1, ein Folienstück 2 und ein Überdeckungsetikett 3. Folienstück 2 und Überdeckungsetikett 3 sind dies- und jenseits einer am Träger vorgesehenen Falzlinie angebracht. Das Überdeckungsetikett 3 dient unter anderem als Lackierschutz und kann nach Beschriften des Folienstücks 2 durch Umfalzen der Materialbahn längs der Falzlinie 4 auf dem Folienstück 2 passgenau und ohne aufwendige Verspendungseinrichtungen auf die gewünschte Stelle aufgebracht werden. <IMAGE>
