[origin: WO0015173A1] The invention relates to a method for producing capsules whose shell material consists of soft gelatin, starch or such like and which are filled with at least one filling material, such as an active ingredient and/or flavouring agent. According to the invention the filling material is introduced into the shell material, after which the capsules filled with filling material are produced. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out this method. Said method is characterized in that, for example, the shell material is delivered in the form of a strand whose outer contours correspond to the maximum cross-section of the capsule to be produced, and in that to separate the capsules filled with filling material from the strand filled with filling material, a separating-valve unit is used which has a channel which is designed for the strand and can be opened and closed in a controlled manner.
