Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9948690A1] According to the invention, a multi-purpose device is used for coating sheets or sections. This enables various coating processes, such as all-over or partial lacquering, screen-printing quality colour printing or special coating processes, e.g., local application of size/adhesive to be carried out with one device. Sheets or sections are transported for treatment by a belt transportation system (22) in one work level (21) and are conveyed to a precision workstation (21) for transferring the coating medium all-over or to specific areas. The novel method is especially suitable for colour printing by screen printing, for lacquering sheets or sections, or for applying media such as adhesives etc., the perforated cylinder being configured accordingly as a quick change cylinder, e.g., a screen-printing cylinder, screen-lacquering cylinder or perforated cylinder for applying special media.
