[origin: WO9949524A1] The invention concerns a method for making and assembling silicon photovoltaic unit cells on metal substrate, comprising steps which consist in: producing a metal plate (25) provided with slits (26, 29) mutually separated by linking points (27) delimiting the bases of a plurality of cells; depositing on said plate an stack of silicon layers followed by metal coating so as to constitute a group of unit cells (28a-b-c-d); directly mounting said groups on an interconnecting support (30); and perforating the linking points so as to separate the cells from the rest of the plate.
