Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1066933A2] The chain saw has a chain brake device with a brake drum (16) mounted in the drive line of a drive chain wheel with a brake belt (17) passing round the drum movable between braking and non-braking positions, a fast-stop kick-back device (18) and a run-down brake (19). The run-down brake has a trigger element (30) that can be pressed against the brake drum under spring force and that can be raised from the brake belt by manually operating the actuating element (28) against the spring force.
