A device for initiating an energy-producing composition, e.g. a pyrotechnic composition or propellant charge, by means of microwaves has a microwave-sensitive receiver element containing a combination of (A) conductive material(s) and (B) material(s) which produce(s) energy or is/are able to react chemically with (A). A device for initiating an energy-producing composition such as a pyrotechnic composition or a propellant charge by means of a microwave generator has at least one receiver element which is sensitive to microwaves, placed in contact with or near to the energy composition. The receiver element contains (A) at least one conductive material in combination with (B) at least one material which produces energy or is capable of reacting chemically with (A).

L'invention a pour objet un dispositif d'initiation d'une composition énergétique, telle qu'une composition pyrotechnique ou une charge propulsive au moyen d'un générateur (9) de micro ondes et comportant au moins un élément récepteur (12) sensible aux micro ondes disposé au contact ou à proximité de la composition énergétique (4). Ce dispositif est caractérisé en ce que l'élément récepteur comprend au moins un matériau conducteur associé à au moins un matériau énergétique ou susceptible de réagir chimiquement avec le matériau conducteur. Application a l'allumage de charges propulsives d'artillerie. <IMAGE>
