Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1067357A1] The two-stage optical detonator has a first stage (1) containing a pyrotechnic compound (2) and linked via an optical fibre (3) to a laser radiation source. The first and second stage pyrotechnic compounds are separated by a metal plate (7) which has one face in contact with the first stage pyrotechnic compound and the other adjacent to a cavity (8) separating it from the second stage pyrotechnic compound (5). The periphery of the metal plate is in contact with the end (9a) of the second stage compound container (9).
