[origin: EP1067636A1] The plug connector has a plug part with an insulating housing (10) and a socket part with an insulating housing (11). The cross-sectional profiles of the contact protection sleeves (12) of the plug part match the external cross-sectional profile of the associated sleeves in the socket part (i.e. fixed coding). The plug part's sleeves have a multi-chamber cross-sectional profile, pref. a 2-chamber profile. A first chamber (20) encloses the plug pin and a second chamber (21) parallel to the first chamber and in one piece with it is separated from it by an insulating intermediate wall (23).
