Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2777232A1] The invention concerns a device comprising a) a mechanical drive chain comprising a heat engine (1), a system (2) transmitting at least part of the engine (1) power output to at least one vehicle wheel (3) and means for coupling (4) said engine (1) to said transmission system; b) an electric drive chain comprising an electrical power generator (14) driven by the heat engine (1), an electric engine (9) powered by the generator (14) and mechanically coupled with said transmission system (2) and electric energy storage means (11) powered by the generator (14). Said device further comprises a member for measuring (21) the vehicle driver's torque requirements, and means (12) sensing said measurement for controlling engine (1, 9) and generator (14) torque, so as to provide the required torque.
