[origin: WO9965748A1] The invention relates to conveyor units such as overhead twin-rail chain conveyor or power and free units. In said systems, roller blocks (14) run on rails, are connected to each other and driven in the longitudinal direction of said rails by means of a traction member (20). The roller blocks (14) convey the bodies that are to be transported or are used to drive other roller blocks (34) that are detachably connected to the first roller blocks. According to the invention, the traction member (20) consists of one or two round synthetic-fibre cables. The cable or cables provide support with respect to the entire cross-section and have a breaking strength of at least 8. They are also fatigue resistant, maintenance-free and make practically no noise. Damage leading to failure can be recognized a long time in advance before said damage occurs.
